Online Casino Companies Hitting Low Tax Regimes in Offshore Jurisdictions

William Hill decided to shift their gambling registration to Gibraltar. They declared the same on August 04, 2009.

It is expected that Bet Fair might also take on clues from them.  Bet fair might also consider shifting their licensing to some offshore companies in a way to cut down on the tax expenditure applicable on their casinos, online sports book, and other gaming operations.

Notably, William Hill does already have some of their businesses licensed in Gibraltar. Similarly, the Bet Fair online casino also has some of their bases licensed in Malta as well.

The moving of the licenses to different jurisdictions in fact provides them with the potential to save money.  The management feels that it is sensible to follow any kind of cost cutting procedures as long as it is not illegal or does not produce any kind of drastic damage to the already ongoing business proceedings.

Another reason for the well known business to consider moving offshore despite all the massive awards they have won is that they are finding it difficult to compete with companies which are operating with lesser costs in running their businesses, mainly in terms of taxes from offshore.  The companies are trying to get rid of the “competitive disadvantage to the offshore operators.”

Several of other online casino and sports book companies might also consider shifting their licenses to less expensive jurisdictions for similar reasons.  Betfair is licensed in nearly 7 countries now. Their current plans is also related to deal with some kind of regulatory issues which might bring in check points to differentiate between favorability for casinos and poker in a different manner.
