Salary Cuts Are Mandatory To Save Jobs in Casinos

The excuse that a majority of big giants who are cutting down salaries are giving is that they are able to save some casino jobs.

If they were to continue with the existing pay rates they might have to cut jobs as a measure of managing the show with the same pay.

Compulsory unpaid offs saves the companies 5%.  These layoffs are not just to dealers and waiters in casinos, but this is also applicable to managers and those who were getting six figure salaries. The drastic check point with the 5% or 10% cuts was to those who were receiving lesser salaries and not for those 6 figures. This has been implemented by Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.

It was once thought that this industry will never meet with a loss, but fingers crossed, the opinion should change now.  When the rest of the economy declines, the casino gambling industry has also declined.

About 81 jobs were cut in Resorts Atlantic City; however, the Atlantic City Hilton did add up 64 jobs since the beginning of 2009
The Tropicana Casino and Resort interfered with the pay of several employees saving $50,000 and at present the company has 71 jobs less than what they had before.
The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has executed about 4 to 10 % pay cuts in their casinos in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Since casino workers are witnessing job cuts around, they feel that pay cuts are better than losing their jobs and they put up with it.
